Direct Primary Care is a model of medical practice where the patient and the doctor have a “direct” relationship without any interference from insurance or big business. In this model, the doctor has a small medical practice that provides the community with high quality care while
asking for a monthly or annual membership fee. This is very similar to a private membership association. This way, the doctor is not dependent on insurance reimbursements and can have ample time to see patients, deepening the relationship and providing more personalized
attention to each person. All patients are required to have health insurance for the purposes of emergency hospitalizations, lab tests, imaging, and specialty referrals, but the doctor’s office itself does not bill the insurance company. With a flat annual fee, there is improvement in the delivery of care, and an increase in patient satisfaction and outcome.
Fees and Services
- $75/month for patients under 65
- 95/month for patients 65 and over
- Medicare will be accepted and billed for, but all Medicare patients need to pay the additional monthly membership fee for services not covered by Medicare
- Private health insurance plans are “in process” of credentialing and will be accepted shortly but all private health insurance carriers need to pay the monthly fee as well
